Amber Gunn is a Legal Assistant for Thomason Justice, PS. She assists the firm’s attorneys with real estate contracts, family law matters, evictions, probates, estate plans, client relations, and legal research.

Amber is also an Economic Policy Fellow for the Olympia-based Freedom Foundation.

Prior to joining Thomason Justice, PS, she was the foundation’s full-time Director of Economic Policy. She has served as a voting member on the American Legislative Exchange Councils (ALEC) Tax and Fiscal Policy Task Force and has been a resource to media outlets and legislative staff for issue briefs and policy analysis. During her time with ALEC, Amber co-authored the organization’s influential State Budget Reform Toolkit, which provided budget and procurement best practices to guide state policymakers in all 50 states as they worked to solve budget shortfalls.

Her work has been featured in the Seattle Times, Investor’s Business Daily, Seattle Business, The Street, The Olympian, The Tacoma News Tribune, The Spokesman Review, and many other Washington news outlets. Her research and analysis has been cited and used by King 5 Investigators, KOMO 4 News, KIRO 7 News, Northwest Public Radio, and various talk radio shows and radio news outlets.

Prior to joining the Freedom Foundation, Amber was a Charles G. Koch Fellow in partnership with the State Policy Network and the Institute for Humane Studies.

Amber spent a year living in Spain, studying and learning the language and culture. While traveling throughout Europe and northern Africa, she developed a deep appreciation for the unique liberties and legal protections enjoyed by Americans, which naturally developed into a passion for the law.

Amber is now a busy mother of four, who homeschools her children in her spare time. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Washington.
